We are proud and excited to welcome our old friend (and Adam Buchwald's former bandmate), David Berkeley to the Boutique on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (November 27th) at 5pm for an evening of indie-folk at its finest. David and Adam toured for several years, and Adam recorded on David's first two records before wising up and learning how to build guitars. David is also the proud owner of two Circle Strings parlor guitars, which he plays all over the world. If we're lucky, Adam will join David onstage again.
Now based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, David Berkeley’s gift as a songwriter is in finding light through darkness, the hope in the hardship. His gift as a performer is in weaving hilarious stories in between his heartbreaking songs. Berkeley has been called a “musical poet,” by the San Francisco Chronicle, “a double fantasy of Nick Drake and Donovan,” by Rollingstone.com, and praised by New York Times for his “lustrous, melancholy voice." He was a guest on This American Life, and he’s won many songwriting awards and honors including ASCAPs Johnny Mercer Songwriting Award.
Berkeley has released seven studio albums, one live album, and authored two books which pair with two of his records. Berkeley recently released his most intimate and important album to date, Oh Quiet World, written during the lockdown after his family escaped Spain due to Corona. It is an album everyone should hear, featuring what Berkeley does best: putting graceful poetry and deep philosophy to delicately beautiful melodies. He is also half of Trans-Atlantic theatrical duo sensation, Son of Town Hall, and his music has been remixed by DJs around the world.
We can't wait for this show and very much hope you can join us. To hear David's music, visit him at www.davidberkeley.com or on the Instagram.
